User password vs owner password
The user password gates opening; the owner password gates printing, copying, and editing. Set both for sensitive files — recipients open with one password while restrictions stay enforced by the other.
Strong passwords or nothing
Encryption is airtight only if the password is strong: 12+ characters, unique, stored in a manager. 'Company2024' protects against nothing. For files already shared widely, changing the password later does not recall distributed copies.
